মার্কিন প্রেসিডেন্ট পদে প্রার্থী ডোনাল্ড ট্রাম্প তাঁর ভারত-পাকিস্তান যুদ্ধবিরতি সংক্রান্ত দাবি সম্পর্কে তার বক্তব্য পরিবর্তন করেছেন2। টাইমস অফ ইন্ডিয়া অনুসারে, ট্রাম্প এখন বলছেন, “আমি বলতে চাই না যে আমি এটা করেছি, কিন্তু আমি সাহায্য করেছি”2। ভারতীয় বিদেশ মন্ত্রক (MEA) ইতিমধ্যেই ট্রাম্পের মধ্যস্থতা দাবির বিরুদ্ধে বাস্তবতা পরীক্ষা করেছে2।

ভারত-পাকিস্তান উত্তেজনার কারণে আট দিন বন্ধ থাকার পর জম্মু অঞ্চলের পাঁচটি সীমান্তবর্তী জেলায় স্কুলগুলি বৃহস্পতিবার পুনরায় খুলেছে1। একজন শিক্ষা বিভাগের বরিষ্ঠ আধিকারিক জানিয়েছেন, “স্বাভাবিক অবস্থা ফিরে আসার পর জম্মু, সাম্বা, কাঠুয়া, রাজৌরি ও পুঞ্চের পাঁচ সীমান্তবর্তী জেলায় আজ স্কুল পুনরায় খুলেছে। তবে ভারত-পাক সীমান্তের কাছে অবস্থিত স্কুলগুলি বন্ধ থাকবে”1। নিয়ন্ত্রণ রেখা ও আন্তর্জাতিক সীমান্তের কাছে অবস্থিত ৩০টি স্থানের স্কুল সতর্কতামূলক ব্যবস্থা হিসেবে বন্ধ থাকবে1।
সাত দিন পর মাতা বৈষ্ণব দেবী মন্দিরে হেলিকপ্টার পরিষেবা পুনরায় শুরু হয়েছে2। এছাড়াও উত্তরী কমান্ডের GOC জম্মু-কাশ্মীরের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী এবং লেফটেন্যান্ট গভর্নরকে নিরাপত্তা পরিস্থিতি সম্পর্কে ব্রিফ করেছেন2।
